Pre-requisites: None

Cost: $168 + GST per person.

Study method: Self-guided online learning over 2-3 hours. Start anytime, study anywhere on NZ Laser Training Institute Ltd online interactive platform. It contains comprehensive training modules and a final assessment test.

ALL STAFF who are near or using a laser in the workplace should have a valid workplace Laser Safety Certificate as part of their health & safety induction training. The employer must ensure that any staff working near or operating Class 3B and Class 4 lasers are aware of the hazards and risks that could cause immediate or long-term health issues, including the risks associated with inhaling laser-generated airborne contaminants.

Outsourcing your education to an experienced and specialised provider can help reduce the risk of prosecution by Worksafe NZ and offer a better understanding of how Health and Safety Laws in New Zealand relate to lasers as a recognised workplace hazard.

programme overview

This short theory online laser safety briefing covers the minimum knowledge required for laser hazard awareness and risks when learning to operate or when being near lasers in the workplace. Learn about why lasers are considered hazards in the workplace. Understand what eye, skin and beam hazards are, as well as some invisible hazards to be aware of as they relate to lasers. Your workers deserve to receive quality education in workplace hazard awareness, as it is both a legal requirement and a vital safety measure. Recognise how laser operators can be protected from laser hazards and understand safety markings on laser safety glasses.

Completion of this online safety briefing ensures that all workers are aware of the potential risks in their workplace and know how to protect themselves and follow safety rules.

Disclaimer: This training is informational only and does not replace full hands-on operator instructional training in the functioning of and safe use of a laser device.
